In 1990, GLD was born. Graeme Dixon had been working in the events industry throughout the 80s but the rise in demand for dressed hospitality and backstage areas grew to such an extent that GLD became bona fide just to meet the volume of requests. As the big tours rolled in, year after year, GLD got the gig.
25 years later and GLD has grown to become a major player in the event hire sector. The transformation from one man, 5 sofas and a big idea to a national company with 33,000 square feet of warehousing full of hire furniture has been impressive. GLD's headquarters and main distribution hub is now in the southwest of the UK, yet the company delivers on a global scale, with an exemplary reputation for reliability, flexibility and adaptability.
To commemorate this milestone, we've gone a little retro at GLD.
