GLD help Rock Hyde Park for Hard Rock Calling sponsor guests

This June, event suppliers GLD were set the task of creating the interior elements of the Hospitality areas at the annual 3 day Hyde Park rock festival, Hard Rock Calling. Each Sponsor ‘Pod’ was dressed individually and provided with corporate sponsor branding, furniture and lighting so guests could enjoy the outdoor event in style, whilst legends of popular music including Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam and Paul McCartney headlined the festival. The Sponsors included the promoter Live Nation, the venue Royal Parks, Volvo, Starwood and the Wine Company.

Dressed with bars, different seating levels (including sofas, bar stools, bistro chairs and tables, bean bags, cubes & modular units), garden furniture, fencing and lots of plants & topiary, each sponsor added a splash of their own character to the pods. Volvo went ‘red, white and blue’, whilst Starwood embraced the whole festival/chill out theme with hammocks and modular seating.

Their white modular units were custom made by the GLD design team, who also produced other bespoke items for the guest areas. Beauty n Beats brought their unique glamour to the festival with a specially designed fashion and pamper area sponsored by UGG Australia. GLD created the look with customised signage, catwalk, backdrops, entrance structure, lighting and seating plus areas for make-up and hair professionals to pamper the punters. GLD also supplied garden furniture and plants for the Hard Rock bar areas and garden lighting for sponsor areas.

Many of these sponsor elements went on a festival tour this summer, featuring at Wireless, T in the Park and the Big Chill.

GLD also supplied furniture for the backstage dressing rooms and production at Hyde Park.
