The Liverpool Sound
June 2008
1st June saw legendary Liverpudlian, Sir Paul McCartney celebrate Liverpool's international status as European Capital of Culture 2008 with a momentous concert, 'The Liverpool Sound' staged at Anfield Stadium - home to Liverpool Football Club.
Former Beatle and Liverpool son, McCartney played a historic set of classic hits, the first in front of his home crowd for 5 years, to rapturous reception. He was joined on stage by special guest, Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl and was supported by local band, The Zutons and Kaiser Chiefs.
GLD were responsible for providing furniture for the backstage dressing, production and management rooms. GLD also worked on the Liverpool European Capital of Culture launch event that was held back in January at the newly opened 10,000 capacity Echo Arena Liverpool with another former Beatle, Ringo Starr.
