GLD working with Live brand experience agency, Ignition, produced several elements for the Wembley Stadium concert held on 7th July 2007 for the 24-hour, 7 continent music extravaganza, Live Earth - The Concerts for a Climate in Crisis, led by former Vice President Al Gore to combat climate change. The Wembley concert which saw an all-star line-up including Madonna, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Genesis, Razorlight, Snow Patrol, Black Eyed Peas, Metallica and Spinal Tap, brought together many of the same team that produced the trade and poverty campaign, Live 8 and used state-of-the-art technology to create a climate neutral experience. The multi-media broadcast event reached a global audience of 2 billion.
GLD produced five hospitality areas for VIPs and sponsor guests creating special installations and messaging to illustrate the environmental pledges to change and conserve energy for the preservation of the planet.
GLD also created the backstage area catering for the superstar line-up and entourage and supplied elements for the press areas, green rooms and production site.
